Hello good people,
5000 miles later*, we are home from an epic midwest tour. Thanks to the many new listeners who signed up for this newsletter, and to the rest of you for still reading! Much to say and many more to thank, but I’ve tried to sum it up on my blog, here, and you can see a few photos at my facebook music page (Please click me a little “like” while you’re there!)
One of the highlights of the trip was the culminating concert of our weeklong residency (3 shows a day!) in the Quad Cities, at the Redstone Room of the River Music Experience in Davenport IA. It was a warm and wonderful full house that contributed fantastic energy to the recording of the show for Iowa Public Radio’s “Java Blend” with Ben Kieffer. Ben jumped on stage a few times to ask great questions amid the hot tunes (Jamie Fox and Stephan Crump were on fire as usual!) and the show will be broadcast on the air and online 2 pm CT on Saturday April 19th at iowapublicradio.com. The show will be available as a podcast after that date.
In other news, an essay I wrote recounting a conversation (confrontation?) related to my song “Feed Your Baby” was published by the excellent FoodTank.com
NYC people, we will be playing at Le Poisson Rouge Friday 4/25, opening (7 pm sharp!) for old and dear friends, the great Burlap to Cashmere! Tickets here:
Following that in May is a full set with full band at Rockwood Music Hall, Stage 2, on Tuesday May 20th! Tickets here
Also, just announced, back to my roots on the Long Island Sound, with a special benefit for WhyHunger at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Centerport NY, Saturday May 24th! Tickets on sale soon.
A few days later we head back west, starting a long weekend with another Homemade Jams benefit for WhyHunger in Pittsburgh PA — Thursday May 29th. Then on to Bloomington IN, Cincinnati & Columbus OH.. All details and ticket links below.
It’s been a great spring so far, and for that we are grateful. Thank you!
