Hi all,

I invite you to view the many lovely music videos I’ve commissioned over the years with a variety of collaborators — Nathan James Leatherman, Kate Chumley, K8 Howl and Jak Ritger, Maria Eugenia, and Matt Rasch. I hope more will be coming soon! But in the meantime, please check ’em out by clicking the thumbnails below and on the videos page. Thank you!

PS — next up for shows are 9/21 in NYC (solo), 10/11 in Piermont NY, 10/24 in Fayetteville NY and 10/25 in Rochester, and then a month of Sundays in Brooklyn: November, 5 pm, Barbes! More information is on the “shows” page.

Hey everybody! Jamie Fox, Stephan Crump, the two junior Crumps and I are heading north on tour this week. Please click on “shows” for details on our concerts indoors and outside in Rhode Island, Maine, and the breathtaking Maritime Provinces of Canada. Also, for the fall I’ve just scheduled a late afternoon set on October 11th at the Turning Point in Piermont NY, two late October shows farther upstate as well as a November residency at the very special, very tiny Barbes in Brooklyn — I will be putting together different ensembles and songs for every Sunday at 5 pm! Check out the shows page for the full scoop (and please sign up for my email list above if you haven’t already!). Thanks so much for listening!

My dad died 34 years ago today, but has remained very much with us through his timeless music, our vivid memories, and the transformative programs of WhyHunger, which Harry cofounded in 1975. I’ve been serving on WhyHunger‘s Board of Directors for more than 20 years now, and am enormously proud of the work we are doing -supporting grassroots solutions to hunger and poverty around the world and helping build a broader movement towards good food for all. Please join me in offering sustaining support of: $5 a month to “Keep the Change,” $10 a month since “You Can Always Count on the Cheap Seats,” $25, “I Wonder What Would Happen” and so on..

To celebrate WhyHunger’s 40th Anniversary, we’re trying to add 40 new members to Harry’s Giving Circle in the next two weeks. I’ll keep you posted as we make progress to our goal. Will you join us? http://whyhunger.org/harrysgivingcircle

Summer Shows

Oh, hello there,

I’m known around my house as “summer girl” and indeed I do love the summer. Especially since we have a nice mix of indoor and outdoor concerts coming up with The Chapin Family and the Jen Chapin Trio in June, July and August. Please click on the shows page here for the full preview. Next up: Saturday June 27th at the Summer Arts Festival in Huntington Long Island, and Sunday June 28th at the Rockland-Bergen Music Festival in Tappan NY.

Thanks for listening!

PS — We’ll be looking to break up our trip on our way back down from Nova Scotia this summer, and will be passing through New England on Monday August 24th and/or Tuesday August 25th. Anybody up for hosting an early weeknight house concert? Or perhaps having us do a workshop at your kid’s summer camp? We’re open to the possibilities!

brand new “Gospel” video on WNYC.org for MLK Day

Hello everyone! I am happy to live in a country with a national holiday honoring the “steady, loving, confrontation” of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the struggle of generations to make ours a more perfect union.

And I’m delighted that this amazing, brand new video of my song “Gospel” by K8 Howley and Jak Ritger has been given the distinction of an exclusive premiere on WNYC.org, introduced by the great radio host John Schaefer:

Please click on, view and share widely! Thanks so much for watching, and listening,

Happy New Year Friends!

Here’s what I have going on music-wise for the next month or so:

This coming Sunday I’m spending an afternoon at the beach! Kinda sorta. I’ve been invited to join the Light of Day Winter Fest-ivities for “Songwriters by the Sea” in Asbury Park NJ and am looking forward to sharing a few songs (solo) with other able writers donating their time. The following weekend the trio goes north to Rochester NY and Niagara Falls ON, then we’ll play back closer to home at an intriguing new vegetarian restaurant/eco-retailing/entertainment space in Westchester County, Recologie.

In February, Stephan Crump and I will share music from our home to yours in our 2nd online show via ConcertWindow.com. Anyone around the world with a decent internet connection can pay-as-you-wish to watch and listen and interact with comments online. We had much fun last time, and the audience seemed to as well — even our 9-year old Maceo who typically declines to see us live was happy to watch from the next room on my laptop and type in his more-than-2¢ worth. (Then again, I’m reminded that the young ones will do anything if it involves a screen and keys to click.. ) Click here to sign up for a reminder and see how it all works. Please send me a note if you’re planning to tune in and would like to make a song request, or let me know anything else on your mind!

Thanks so much for listening,

Happy New Year Y’all!

Lots of house-cleaning and transitions going on here, but I’ll be announcing new shows, videos, and other good stuff soon.. Thanks for listening, and here’s to a peaceful and wonderful 2015!

This Thursday December 18th in Brooklyn NY!

Stephan Crump, Jamie Fox and will be closing out the year’s shows (and what a year it’s been! From Des Moines to Dickey Lake; TEDx to Tiverton..) with a concert this Thursday 12/18 at the very special and very intimate Jalopy Theatre in Brooklyn NY. We’ll be joined by two of my favorite songwriters from my earliest days playing in NYC: KJ Denhert and Mike Errico are soulful singers, excellent guitar players, and both no slackers in the wit department, onstage and off. Tickets are available here and at the door. The evening starts at 7:30 pm. Please join us!

from our home to yours..

Stephan Crump (acoustic bass and other sounds) and I (voice and guitar) are doing our inaugural (hopefully the first of many!) online show via Concert Window this coming Saturday December 13th at 9:30 pm EST, and we hope friends from around the world will join us from their computers. Check it out here!

Hungerthon 2014

I’ve got two concerts in New Jersey this weekend in support of Hungerthon, the annual awareness and fundraiser event that provides most of WhyHunger‘s budget. I have been a Board member, spokesperson and volunteer for WhyHunger for 20 years now, and my passion for its mission and belief in its work only gets stronger over time. Details on these an other upcoming events are here on the “shows” page.

If you can’t make it to a show, please check out Hungerthon.org to find out more, donate, or bid on an array of swanky auction items. We’ll be on the air this coming Tuesday, November 25th — nationwide at SiriusXM radio as well as various NYC-area stations. Join us!
